Medieval Cities of Northern Italy

This tour is for those who have already been to Italy and want to explore Northern Italy in more depth. In nine days you’ll discover new towns, royal palaces and medieval castles, while enjoying the beautiful lakes and the celebrated wines and food of northern Italy.

Day 1: Milan

  • Arrive in Milan. Private transfer from the airport to the hotel.
  • Guest will stay overnight in Lake Como.

Day 2: Lake Como

  • Breakfast will be served at the hotel.
  • The tour begins with a visit to Lake Como, the third largest lake in Italy. Its beauty is breathtaking, making it a favorite of both Italians and the international Jet Set. We’ll tour the botanical garden and museum of 18th century Villa Carlotta and visit the town of Bellagio.
  • Guests will stay overnight in the Lake Como area.

Day 3: Lake Maggiore

  • Breakfast will be served at the hotel in the Lake Como area.
  • The day will be dedicated to visiting Lake Maggiore, and having a private tour of the resort town, Stresa, where we’ll see the luxurious holiday homes of the noble families of Lombardy. Afterwards, guests will take a boat to visit the Lake’s Borromean Islands.
  • After the tour, guests will return to Milan and stay overnight.

Day 4: Milan

  • Breakfast will be served at the hotel.
  • Touring the historic center of Milan, we’ll visit the Duomo, the Vittorio Emanuele II Galleria, Teatro alla Scala, one of the most important opera houses in the world and the famous quadrilateral area–Milan’s heart of fashion and shopping.
  • Guests will have a free afternoon to rest, or to explore Milan on their own.
  • Guests will stay overnight in Milan.

Day 5: Turin

  • Breakfast will be served at the hotel in Milan.
  • Guests will travel first class by train to the beautiful city of Turin, where we’ll visit the historical center of the city, the Royal Palace, San Carlo Square, the Egyptian Museum which houses one the largest collections of Egyptian antiquities, and the architectural landmark and symbol of Turin, the Mole Antonelliana.
  • Guests will stay overnight in Turin.

Day 6: Le Langhe Area

  • Breakfast will be served at the hotel in Turin.
  • Guests will take an excursion to the beautiful Le Langhe area, famous for its wines, cheeses and truffles, particularly the white truffles of Alba. Tasting of wines and typical products of the region included.
  • Guests will stay overnight in Turin.

Day 7:  Bergamo–Sirmione

  • Breakfast will be served at the hotel in Turin.
  • Guests will tour the historic center of Bergamo, a UNESCO World Heritage City. The tour continues with a visit to the lakeside resort town of Sirmione situated on a peninsula extending into Lake Garda.
  • Guests will stay overnight on Lake Garda.

Day 8: Lake Garda

  • Breakfast will be served at the hotel.
  • Guests will visit the coastal towns of Desenzano del Garda, Gardone Riviera, Saló and Limone.
  • Guests will stay overnight on Lake Garda.

Day 9: Verona or Venice

  • Breakfast at the hotel on Lake Garda.
  • Guests will be provided private transportation to the Verona or Venice airport.
