Cefalu Sicilia

On this tour, guests will delight in the culture, food, and history of Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean. Ancient cultures–Greek, Carthaginian, Roman, Arab, Norman, Spanish–have all left an indelible mark on this island which is reflected in Sicily’s cuisine, architecture and arts.

Day 1: Palermo

  • Guests will be transferred from the Palermo airport to their hotel.
  • A walking tour through the historic center of Palermo will introduce guests to the Island’s capital city.
  • Guest will stay overnight in Palermo.

Day 2: Monreale–Cefalù

  • Breakfast will be served at the hotel in Palermo.
  • Guests will visit the town of Monreale to see its cathedral renowned for its Byzantine mosaics of gold. Afterwards, we’ll visit the coastal city of Cefalù, an important fishing village known for its Romanesque cathedral.
  • Guests will stay overnight in Palermo.

Day 3: Segesta–Erice

  • Breakfast will be served at the hotel in Palermo.
  • Guests will tour the archaeological site of Segesta. Afterwards, we’ll visit the city of Erice. In the late afternoon we will continue to the beautiful city of Trapani.
  • Guests will stay overnight in Trapani.

Day 4: Marsala–Agrigento

  • Breakfast will be served at the hotel in Trapani.
  • We begin with a tour of the archaeological site Selinunte, an ancient Greek city overlooking the sea. The day will include a tasting of Marsala wines and a visit to Agrigento to explore the acheological site, the Greek Valley of the Temples.
  • Guests will stay overnight in Ragusa.

Day 5: Ragusa–Modica–Scicli

  • Breakfast will be served at the hotel in Ragusa.
  • We will visit the cities of the Sicilian baroque era, such as Modica, Ragusa and Scicli.
  • Guests will stay overnight in Ragusa.

Day 6: Noto–Syracuse

  • Breakfast will be at the hotel in Ragusa.
  • Guests will continue touring UNESCO World Heritage cities, visiting Noto first, then onto Syracuse to explore the archaeological park of Neapolis and the island of Ortigia.
  • Guests will stay overnight in Syracuse.

Day 7: CataniaEtna Volcano

  • Breakfast will be served at the hotel in Syracuse.
  • Guests will tour the center of the historic port city of Catania, and will enjoy a wine tasting and lunch at the foot of Mount Etna. After the tour, guests will return to Syracuse.
  • Guests will stay overnight in Syracuse.

Day 8: Taormina

  • Breakfast at the hotel in Syracuse.
  • In the morning, guests will enjoy the beauty and charm of Taormina, an historic town overlooking the Ionian Sea.
  • Guests will have a free afternoon to relax or explore Taormina on their own.
  • After the tour, guests will return to Syracuse.
  • Guests will stay overnight in Syracuse.

Day 9: Catania

  • Breakfast will be served at the hotel in Syracuse.
  • Guests will be driven from their hotel to the Catania airport.
